To meet the demand of North Americans for light-colored and earthly colored flooring, Coswick Hardwood, hardwood flooring manufacturer, has launched ash flooring solution. This is an extension to the company's current offerings in the Classic and Signature Flooring segment. The ash floors are based on the technique of 2-layer tounge-and-groove engineered flooring whereby high adhesion glue is used to join the two plywood bases. The hardwood floors are applied with semi-gloss or matte CosNanoTech+ lacquer, and Silk Oil finish. CosNanoTech+ provides resistance and transparence to the flooring while Silk Oil makes the flooring resistant to wetness and temperature changes. The ash flooring products can be used for both, the residential as well as commercial interiors. They can be applied over a wooden or over, above or below a plywood subfloor.
The ash floors are available in Avalanche, Moonlight and Cloudy colors which reflect the off-white color tone. Metallic tones of flooring are available in Silvery, Mocca, Cappuccino and Black Emerald while earthly shades are available for providing a contemporary look to the interiors. Coswick's ash flooring products are reasonably priced products, and hence reach to a wider class of people. These can be purchased from authorized dealers of Coswick across USA and Canada.

Many are the benefits that we can get from a porcelain floor if we use it for our bathroom, kitchen or high traffic areas. Since porcelain is more dense than ceramic, is less prone to absorb moisture and its superior in performance with respect to resistance to staining. Porcelain is also six times more resistant to frost, so it is less likely to crack in cold weather.

These properties make porcelain an excellent choice for outdoor applications and for use within refrigerated areas. The lower rate of moisture absorption makes the porcelain a better choice in high humidity rooms such as bathrooms. Also due to its density, porcelain provides much greater resistance to chipping the ceramic tiles.

How to identify the porcelain flooring tiles:

Both ceramic and porcelain tiles come in a wide variety of designs and colors. The difference in the tables are generally identified by looking at the back of the piece. Ceramic tiles are usually dark red or terra cotta colored on the back, while the porcelain can be dark or light brown.

What to consider when buying porcelain:

While both products offer many colors, there is usually a wider selection of styles and colors of ceramic tiles. The porcelain tends to be more expensive. The great advantage of porcelain tile is its strong force, also contributes to a major disadvantage that porcelain tiles are more difficult to cut and handle than ceramic tiles.

Where to apply ceramic and porcelain tile flooring:

You can use both ceramic tiles or porcelain in the bathrooms, backsplashes, countertops and floors. High traffic areas such as corridors, backyards; also in the patio by the grill and the swimming pool surroundings, are areas that are normally the best places where you can install ceramic or porcelain tiles.

If we are decided to change the floors in our house, the several choices can be a source of conflict since the great variety of options and types of flooring such as materials, textures and designs are quite wide. Also an important aspect in selecting the floor to be installed in our home, is that we look at the texture of it, since it needs to adapt to the conditions of the region where our home is located. Remember that while in warmer climates, the floors should be fairly lightweight, while the cold climate regions deserve much harder floors and solid.

Types of Floors:

Below we have provided a summary of the different kinds of floors, their main characteristics and applications.

Granite and Marble:
If the most important is the resistance, the granite and marble are in first place with a very high initial cost but with minimal maintenance costs, there are a variety of sizes and colors with endless combination possibilities. The just granite tiles are next in strength, at a price that in some cases may be half of the above.

The Porcelain clays are combinations of high temperature cook up in a single mass. This process sets them apart from traditional ceramics of great strength, but lose brightness when the use is very intense. That's why the porcelain more than likely comes in semi matte finishes.

The limestone tiles are a very accessible option that comes with smooth finishes, others with slate imitations (Pavimenti type), others stamped with various designs.

The ceramics are rated for various uses and may need to be evaluated what is best for each case.

Cement floors, with different finishes can be from simple smoothed in different colors with the addition of special products like colors, to the cement floors patterns from a given mold texture, color and strength desired can be achieved easily, achieving a uniform and monolithic finish which gives a similar benefit to any stone material at a cost slightly lower than the others. They also serve as outdoor specialty products, holding their color and good lasting conditions.

Wood floors are those that offer greater warmth by the nature of the material used, is warm in winter and cool in summer, its poor acoustics make it a soft cushion of sound. You can also put hardwood floors on the outside, and there are actually a lot of assembly low priced decks that would give very good results.

The Stone: Exterior floors of stone materials can be used as paving stones or porphyry, since they have excellent weather resistance and are of unlimited duration. Also on the exteriors, for the sun and pool edges we highly recommend the athermal stone tiles.
